Margret Watson

Margret is a volunteer leader and community advocate with a heart for supporting women veterans, women, children, and families in need. Service has been a constant thread throughout her life, shaped by more than 20 years in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard and carried forward through volunteerism and community involvement.
After retiring from the military, Margret continued serving through roles with the Texas Veterans Commission and the Office of Court Administration, where she helped connect families with resources that support stability, healing, and reunification. That work deepened my commitment to making sure women and families have access to employment, wellness services, childcare, transportation, and strong support systems.
Today, her focus is on hands-on volunteer leadership. Margret currently serves as a Service Officer with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, assisting veterans and their families with benefits navigation and advocacy. Over the years, she has held several leadership roles within the VFW, which has given her a deep appreciation for the challenges facing veterans, especially women veterans, and their families.
Margret is also deeply involved with Moose International and the Women of the Moose, where her service centers on women, children, and community support. She is a Charter Senior Regent, currently serves as Higher Degree Chairman. At the state level, she serves as Heart of the Community Co Chair for the Texas Moose Association, coordinating charitable efforts and statewide initiatives that directly benefit families and those most in need.
Margret believes real change happens through connection, compassion, and showing up consistently. Her volunteer work aligns closely with the mission of Friendship Is The New Pretty 2, creating supportive spaces where women and children feel seen, valued, and empowered. Giving back is not just something she does, it is who she is.
