Lori Julian

Lori currently works for the federal government as an Employee/Labor Relations Specialist in HRMS. She is a retired Army Veteran with two combat tours to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. She is the owner of Friendship Is The New Pretty, LLC, which donates 50% of the proceeds to the nonprofit for continuous support of the mission.

Lori started Friendship Is The, New Pretty 2, INC, because she experienced domestic violence in her young adult life. Her children were small, and she remembers the effect that it had on them all too well. She has a heart for women and children. She spends countless hours working on ways to ensure the organization can help any woman or child in need. Being able to overcome the abuse in her own life is one of the driving forces behind her motivation to help women and children with any form of abuse or hardship they may be going through. She inspires all women to be positive, push through obstacles, and empower one another because they are all beautiful and unique and wonderfully made by God.

She created FITNP2 Vet Chat, because she understands the suffering and isolation that so many female veterans experience daily in silence from her own experiences from military service. FITNP2 Vet Chat is a Women Veterans Peer Support Group to aid female veterans with a support circle of friends to function better in society in a positive environment. God’s purpose for my life is for me to give back to women and children that are less fortunate through community outreach services and programs.

In addition to being the Founder and President of the organization she is a member of the illustrious Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, INC, a member of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW), and the OES, Stars of Texas #2 where she does countless hours of community service.

Lori earned her Bachelor of Liberal Arts from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a minor in Psychology. She also earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
